cfbg tip ___; what is a cfbg?

what is a cfbg?

NOW.

TIME TO WORK ON THE BOOK.

This was an experience! Just because I'm now working on the book, does not mean that cfbg tips; is done/over.

It just means new things and happenings for it will come.

Till then, follow me on all the things offered on this site! I'll still be doing things!

Love, y'all.

cfbg tip 058; better for self

tip_058_better-for-yourself.jpg

"For the things you can change that will be better for you long term, make that change. even if it’s scary."

Things are picking up, gradually, for the better. And it's scary-

But exciting at the same time.

I remember writing down that I wanted better for myself in the context of doing better BY me. Taking better care of my emotional, physical, social, spiritual, etc health. And so far that's happening. It's HARD.

Like, I went hiking with friends for the first time and I both loved and HATED it. The pain was real but reaching the top, looking out over the scenery, surrounded by great people and friends, breathing some good ass air was AMAZING.

The journey up was trying, I stopped and rested when my body cried for it, and I thought about how I should probably try the gym again or something to build my strength to hike a damn mountain. I thought about how I went out every weekend with friends. How I'm socializing more. How I've made friends with active people who are so kind and cool. How I'm getting back to meditating because I stopped. But the important thing is that I'm trying again.

The journey is SCARY. And HARD. But I feel GREAT. I feel BETTER.

"I got my start by giving myself a start." - Madam C.J. Walker

I feel this heavy. I remember dressing up as her back in either first or second grade for a black history project and, I don't know, it's kinda cool to revisit her for the first cfbg update of 2018. I may want to delve even further with her as an adult with an adult lens than a child's lens which can be chalked up to, "She seems cool but this shawl y'all got me wearing is itch-y." haha.

Anyway, shoutout to Madam.

cfbg tip 054; BE MAD

I can hear Solange sing, "I got a lot to be mad about." in the background.

Yeah, I don't really have much to add here.

cfbg tip 053; liked & respected

tip_053_liked-and-respected.jpg

Respect and Like are two different things. Strive to be RESPECTED. That doesn't mean being--uh--mean, but it does mean setting boundaries, communicating your wants and concerns, and just being true and honest with yourself and the people around you. Striving to be "liked" can often end up being a people pleaser--or keeping things to yourself that could potentially be a source of resentment. Plus--people can take advantage of that.

So. Respect over being Liked. People can like and respect you. Some people can respect you and not...really care about you either way and that's ok. You're NOT for everybody.

cfbg tip 045; be.

tip_045_be_v000.jpg

It wasn’t ALWAYS like this but lately I’ve been relishing in taking up space as far as my presence is concerned. I laugh loud and happily. I don’t feel as uncomfortable with being in somewhere. I’m constantly aware of my existence (even if it freaks me out a lil’ lmfao) and–iunno. It feels good but it took practice like every aspect of self care and growth.
